Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Cameroon

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) is a German non- profit, private educational institution committed to the values of social democracy and the labour movement.

FES seeks to promote democracy through the promotion of freedom, solidarity and social justice.

Its office based in Yaounde, Cameroon is one of approximately 20 offices in sub-Saharan Africa and the only one in Central Africa. Like in most African countries, Cameroon too is in the process of transformation into a pluralistic democratic society.

It is for this reason that, FES Cameroon together with local partner organisations run projects and programmes to strengthen the said process, foster economic growth and promote gender equality

That means, in the case of FES Cameroon, to promote the process of transformation to a pluralistic, truly democratic society.

Together with partner associations, unions, local governments, parliamentarian bodies and researchers FES Cameroon is currently running projects and programmes to strengthen democracy and the freedom of the press, to foster economic development and to promote gender equality.
